Committed to helping students learn how to learn as an essential skill to use in the future career and personal development path.

Goal:to helping students learn how to learn as an essential skill to use in the future career and personal development path.

Believes everyone has potential for self improvement whether professional, interpersonal, or social.

Educational Background:

Earned an Honours Bachelor of Science in the field of Psychology. The focus of her university studies was on human development courses, such as Cognitive Development, Social & Personality Development, and Moral Development. The study of human development has inspired her to incorporate a holistic teaching philosophy that takes into consideration a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social needs in her class.

Certificates

Certified to teach primary/junior grades (1-8) in all core subject areas including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Arts.

Certified to teach Social Sciences , grades 9-12.

She takes an integrative approach to delivering the Ministry Curriculum by incorporating visual-art tasks into regular English and Math/Science assignments and projects. In this way, students are better able to make connections between disciplines, and ultimately between what they studied at school and their every-day experiences.

Completed the Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate from Seneca College.

This certificate has enabled her to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of learning a second language and the various obstacles second language learners have to overcome in order to express themselves in another language.

Experience:

Six years combined experience as tutor/teacher in various positions including:

Mentorship roles for programs catering to underprivileged children:
